Spring Cleaning Routine

When spring arrives, it can only mean one thing: spring cleaning! I definitely have been putting off my spring cleaning this year because it always feels like such an overwhelming task. However, it is the perfect way to reset and refresh your living space, so I hope this blog motivates you to start your cleaning if you've also been putting it off. Remember, even if your cleaning list seems HUGE, every small task you complete gets you one step closer to finishing! If you want to clean alongside me, check out my YouTube video to watch me do my spring cleaning in action!

Setting the Vibe

Pre-Cleaning Routine

It is so important to set the mood before you start cleaning your apartment to get yourself excited for the day! Here are some things I do to help make my spring cleaning day FUN!

Cleaning To-Do List

Before I start cleaning anything, I make a list of everything I want to achieve for the day. Making a list helps me visualize all the different things my day will include. Plus, when I check a task off the list, I feel SO accomplished! As Will and I are currently living in a one-bedroom apartment, my spring cleaning isn't as crazy as if I were in a house, so don't be afraid to add more cleaning to-dos to your list if mine seems short!

  • Make the bed

  • Dust and wipe down bedside tables, dresser, and vanity

  • Put away any misplaced items

My Fave Cleaning Products

Surface Cleaners

There is nothing better than dusting and wiping down my counters with a pink microfiber cloth. I have been using these for years, and not only are they cute, they also work SO well! I rotate the types of cleaners I use in the apartment, but currently I love using Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day spray and the classic Clorox cleaning mist.

Mop and Vacuum

The last part of my cleaning routine is the floors. I have been using my Shark vacuum for so long, and it does such a great job at getting up all the dirt and Elle fur that is all over my floors. Afterward, I use this cordless electronic mop that makes the floors look super shiny and smell good!

Cleaners

When it comes to deep cleaning, I make sure I am covering all of my bases. To refresh my carpets, I use this carpet odor eliminator, which makes the room smell SO good. I also love these garbage disposal packets to eliminate any bad odors, and I clean all my mirrors with this glass cleaner

Scrubs

I couldn't make a list of my favorite cleaning supplies without including my kitty Scrub Daddy. It's pink, in the shape of a cat, and cleans all of my dishes perfectly! To clean the sink, I use this amazing sink scrub, and I use The Pink Stuff for any leftover areas that need scrubbing in the sink and around the kitchen.

I feel like a brand new girl after spring cleaning my apartment! I hope you were able to find the motivation you needed to start any cleaning you've been putting off and found some great new cleaning products to try out!
