What I Wish I’d Known Before The Eras Tour

Can I ask y'all a Question...? If you're going to The Eras Tour, how EXCITED are you?! I went twice last year (and vlogged both my first and second concerts), and let me tell you, seeing Taylor Swift live Hits Different. From the setlist to her outfits, the concert was unlike anything I had ever experienced before, and I walked out of there feeling Enchanted. However, there were some things that I wished I'd known before going to the concert to make the process as smooth and comfortable as possible. So, Long Story Short, I decided to make this blog post full of my tips and tricks for taking on The Eras Tour! I hope my advice helps you scream YES when Taylor asks are you ...Ready For It?

Know Your Venue’s Bag Policy

One of the biggest tips I can share with you is to know the bag policy for the venue of your concert. Each venue has different policies about bag sizes and if they have to be clear, and I saw so many girls have to run back to put their bags in the car after waiting in line because they weren't allowed. If you need a clear bag with certain size requirements, there are SO many cute options online, so don't worry about it ruining your outfit!

Wear Comfortable Shoes

Bestie. Hear me out. I know how cute your outfit will be and how you have the perfect pair of heels to match, but save them for the pictures before the show. You are going to be on your feet for more than three hours, and if you want to be comfortable, sneakers are the way to go. Even with my Lover dress, I chose to wear sneakers, and I still think my outfit looked perfect!

Get Your Merch Early

If there's one thing about me, I'm getting all the merchandise possible at a concert. Merch lines at The Eras Tour can be SO crazy and long, so I definitely recommend getting to your concert early if you plan to get merchandise and want to make sure they have everything you want in stock. However, if you don't want to wait in line, most of the merch is available on Taylor's website, so don't worry if something you wanted isn't available; it might be online!

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!

If you plan to enjoy the concert, you better stay hydrated! With almost all of the venues being outside, you will get hot and sweaty from all your dancing, and if you're not hydrated, you're going to feel terrible. Taking care of your body is more important than missing a song or two because you have to go to the bathroom, so listen to your body and buy water as soon as you get to the venue to have it during the show.

Make Friendship Bracelets

One of the most SPECIAL things about seeing Taylor Swift is meeting all the other fans who love her as much as you do! I had the best time walking around and trading friendship bracelets with other fans and seeing what funny bracelets they had come up with. Plus, if you're lucky enough to get You're On Your Own Kid as a surprise song, the friendship bracelets feel even more meaningful.

Learn the Swiftie Chants

If you want to feel like the ultimate Swiftie at the concert, you better know all of the chants that go along with the songs. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, there are certain songs Taylor sings where fans shout a chant back, and let me tell you, Taylor is always listening for them. All the chants are all over TikTok, but my personal favorite is "You forgive, you forget, but you never let it go" during Bad Blood.

Don’t Be Afraid to Dress Up

The Eras Tour isn't only a concert, it's a fashion show! If you're afraid of dressing up and looking silly, I promise no one is going to think twice about the outfit you're wearing. One of the best parts of the concert was seeing all the unique and stunning outfits other Swifties came up with, and I LOVED dressing up for both my concerts. I even made Will dress up as The Heartbreak Prince when I went as the Lover era!

Use the Bathroom Before the Show

If you are nervous about having to go to the bathroom during the show, make sure you go before! I promise you the lines are going to be long, and you might miss the opening acts, but it is worth it to make sure you don't have to go to the bathroom during one of your favorite songs. But remember, not wanting to go to the bathroom isn't an excuse not to drink water!

Bring a Portable Charger

While Taylor may perform for over three hours, you will be at the venue A LOT longer than that, and I promise you are not going to want a dead phone. My worst fear was thinking about my favorite song coming on, and when I went to record it, my phone died. So, invest in a portable charger to make sure you get all the photos and videos you want and can contact your ride after the show to get you home safely!

Enjoy. Every. Single. Moment.

In the words of Taylor herself, "I said remember this moment." There is no better feeling in the world than the lights going out and Taylor coming out on stage to give you the best show of your entire life. I had waited my whole life to see Taylor live, and I have never felt so lucky than to witness her performance live. She is such a QUEEN, and I couldn't believe it when the concert flew by in what seemed like minutes. So, make sure you enjoy the show and leave any and all stress you have at the venue door.

Writing these tips for you brought back such AMAZING memories from my concert! If you're going to The Eras Tour, know you are about to experience a once-in-a-lifetime event that will make you love Taylor even more than you already do. Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to watch The Eras Tour Film and pretend I'm back at her concert!
