Day in My Life as a Content Creator

Even as a content creator, I love to see behind-the-scenes content from my favorite influencers. Recently, I did a YouTube video where I filmed a Work Week in My Life, and everyone loved seeing what I do day to day. I thought it would be fun to write a blog post breaking down all the different things and events my days include as a content creator! While no two days are the same, these are the most common activities on my daily to-do list!

Content Planning

Brainstorming Video Ideas

If you watched my latest YouTube video, you know that I am currently in a creative rut. During the winter months, I find it hard to get my creative juices flowing as the cold weather makes me want to stay curled up inside. So, on days when I have no idea what I want to film, I am so grateful for previous brainstorming sessions! At the beginning of every month, I look at any upcoming events in my life or holidays and see what different types of videos I want to create. I also think about certain video requests from my comment sections or other fun ideas that I randomly think of! Almost daily, I like to review the list to see if anything is relevant and take the time to add any new ideas I've thought of to help me create content in the future!

Reviewing My Content Calendar

One of the most important things for me is to stay organized! I am an avid user of Google Calendar, and everything from blog posts, filming days, and photoshoots is included! When I start my work day, the first thing I do is look at my calendar to see what I have to do that day and week. When it comes to things like YouTube videos or brand deals, staying on schedule is vital to make sure all of my content gets uploaded and is relevant. I also love having a physical planner or notebook where I can write down everything I need to get done for that day and adapt to any last-minute schedule changes!

Filming and Editing

Filming

If there's one constant in my daily routine, it's filming! While I am not someone who is a daily vlogger, there are so many social platforms I have to continuously film content for. Whether I am filming a get-ready video for TikTok or a cozy vlog for my YouTube channel, there is always a camera an arm's length away from me. I started vlogging so I could remember all the fun and important events in my life, and I never take it for granted that I now get to share those memories with all of you! When I am filming, it feels like I am talking to my besties and sharing all the tea about my life!

Editing

When I am not filming, I am editing! I have a whole YouTube video about how I edit my videos, but I also have a video editor who helps me when I am super busy or need his editing expertise. Editing is a vital process of creating a good YouTube video, so I spend a lot of my day perfecting each clip and making sure it is high-quality for all my viewers. Now, even after doing it for all these years, I am still using iMovie, and let me tell you, I wouldn't change a thing! I think so many people are scared to start a YouTube channel because they think they need to have the best equipment or technology, but that's not true! As long as you have the passion, people will want to watch!

Brand Deals

Content with Brands

If you watched my Week in the Life video, you know there are some days where I am filming brand deal after brand deal. However, there are some weeks when I don't even have to film one! Brand deals fluctuate depending on the time of year and events going on in my personal life. When I am working with brands, my days are full of coming up with fun content ideas, getting their approval, and filming the content for YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram. I feel SO blessed that I have been able to work with some of my dream brands, and I love to see you all become obsessed with the same products I love! If you're a content creator who is interested in learning about how brand deals work, check out my YouTube video, where I dive into the world of brand deals and how to get one!

Events

Meet and Greets

One of THE BEST parts about my job is meeting all of you! Last year, I had my first meet-and-greet with LoveShackFancy, and it was the biggest blessing to meet the people behind the screen! While a meet-and-greet is not always a daily task, it is a special event that can be a part of my day. PLUS, if you're reading this the day I post this blog, I'm having my second meet-and-greet this weekend! If you're looking for more information, check out my TikTok to learn about the location and all the fun things we'll be able to do together. Don't worry if you can't make it this weekend because I will be vlogging the whole event and will do a recap on the blog!

Brand Events

While meet-and-greets are special events that don't happen that often, brand events are opportunities that can happen weekly! Since moving to New York City, the chance to attend once-in-a-lifetime events has been something I have taken full advantage of. In previous years, I've had the chance to attend New York Fashion Week or product launches for brands like LoveShackFancy and Kendra Scott! I love getting to take you along to these events through my vlogs because it feels like we're two friends on Facetime, and I get to update you on my life! These events can happen at any time during the day, and the types of activities I get to do vary with each brand which makes each event SO exciting!

Products

As someone who has been making YouTube videos for a LONG time, I have tried SO many different "content creator" products. I wanted to share some of my all-time favorite technological products, but to stay up to date with the newest gadgets I'm trying, check out my Amazon Storefront! By no means do you need ANY of these products to be a content creator, but if you’re looking to invest in yourself and your socials, these are quality items I love!

As someone who loves sharing a behind-the-scenes look at my life, I hope this blog gives you insight into my daily tasks! If you're looking for even more information about being a content creator, check out my How to Become a YouTuber series on YouTube!
