YouTuber Must-Haves

One of the things I’m asked about most is YouTube - how I got started, what my schedule is, and what my must-haves are. Today, I’m going over the essentials for any YouTuber, from beginner to seasoned vlogger. To see how I use these products, head over to my YouTube channel!

Cameras

  • Canon EOS M50 Mark II - This is the camera I use to film all of my YouTube videos. It’s pricey, but worth every penny. It’s got everything - a viewfinder that’s versatile and can be rotated, facial recognition that automatically focuses the camera, and 4K recording capabilities. I love this camera. It’s easy to use and the quality can’t be beaten.

  • Canon PowerShot Digital Camera - This is the best camera to start vlogging with. It’s super easy to use with understandable controls. The video quality is amazing for the price (yes, this is still an investment, but the price is reasonable for the quality you get). It’s lightweight and small, making this a great camera for beginners.

Vlogging Accessories

  • Selfie Stick Tripod - This tripod is my go-to tripod whenever I’m filming something with my phone. It’s lightweight and can easily be compacted, making it the perfect size to slide into your backpack. I love how sturdy it is, too. It doesn’t feel like it’s going to topple over when I attach my phone.

  • Camera Tripod - This is my vlogging tripod. Whenever you see me vlogging, nine times out of ten, I’m using this tripod. This tripod is sturdy and holds my camera well. It’s got several adjustable features, making it so easy for me to get the perfect angle.

  • LED Selfie Light - This light has saved me so many times. Whenever I need to film a clip that’s a little darker than I’d like, I pull this light out and clip it onto my tripod or right onto my phone. It’s got 10 levels of brightness, which makes it so easy to be able to get the shot I’m looking for. It also stays charged for a really long time. I rarely have to charge it, even when I use it a bunch.

  • Mounted Microphone - This microphone picks up sound extremely well. The sound quality is amazing, and it’s lightweight, which is perfect for attaching to my video camera. I like to use this when I need to make sure that my voice is being picked up, but not other sounds around me. (A good example of this is my Sorority Row Tour!)

  • Ring Light - Whenever I film sit-down videos, I’m using this ring light. This ring light makes my videos look bright without making me looked washed out. The brightness is adjustable, from 0% - 100%. It’s also fairly lightweight for its size!

Editing Accessories

  • 5T Hard Drive - Even if you think you won’t need this much storage, I would suggest getting a hard drive with an excess of space. That way, you’ll never have to worry about running out of space while you’re trying to edit or upload. This hard drive is my favorite because it’s small and lightweight, perfect for traveling.

  • Memory Card Case - I like to have a memory card case with me wherever I go, just in case. This case not only protects my memory cards, but also keeps them organized and in one place, so I won’t lose them.

  • USB-C Card Reader - This card reader plugs directly into my MacBook, making it so easy to upload clips and photos onto my computer. I like how this card reader is compatible with three different types of memory cards, so I don’t have to have more than one. It’s also super affordable and is of great quality.

  • Noise-Cancelling Headphones - These headphones make the rest of the world silent. When I’m editing, I like to put these on to get into the zone. They’re super comfortable and don’t hurt my ears, which was a huge plus for me.

If you try out any of these products, make sure to let me know what you think! If you‘d like to see even more of my YouTuber must-haves, head over to my Amazon Storefront for a full list.
