College Graduation Recap

I am officially a college graduate! This past weekend was so much fun & so rewarding after 4 years in Tuscaloosa. While I am so excited for my journey to come, I can’t help but reflect on the past several years in my little college town and how much I have grown.

My full graduation vlog will be live on my YouTube Channel this upcoming Tuesday (5/16) at 3:00 pm CST!

Morning of Graduation

My graduation day is one that I have been anxiously awaiting since starting my last year at Alabama. As any important day should start, Will and I went to Starbies to get one of my favorite coffees and drove through campus one last time. I stopped by our Student Supe Store along the way to purchase an alumni sweatshirt to continue repping Alabama even after graduation. I definitely took the morning slow and took it all in. As of now, I have no plans to continue with my master’s degree, so I really wanted to enjoy what could be my last graduation ever!

My dress was sent to me by Nadine Merabi, I absolutely loved how it fit and looked on my graduation day! Here is where you can buy my graduation dress.

My Grad Cap

I decided to customize my graduation cap for graduation and I am so happy with how it turned out! Not every student does it, but I have been dreaming of decorating a cap since I joined Pinterest in 2012. If you have been following me on YouTube, you will know that I started my college and YouTube journey on the quote “be the girl that just went for it.” Having this scripted on my cap was so special for my graduation day.

Graduation Ceremony

My friends and family came to watch me receive my diploma and filled the arena with cheers. It was so special to me to have so many of the closest people in my life celebrate with me! I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Human Environmental Science from The University of Alabama. I loved getting to learn about human development (specifically children’s cognitive development!) and taking classes where it fit in my schedule about videography and social media.

If you’re wondering… “Lauren, why do you have on a pink gown at graduation?”. Well, if you want to see how that happened, you can watch here.

Night of Graduation

We got a reservation at Forté Cuts and Cocktails in Downtown Tuscaloosa. This is in my top 3 favorite places to eat in Tuscaloosa! They treated us so well and we enjoyed appetizers, our main course, and dessert. Of course, we indulged in some red wine too (my fave lately!). The chef even sent out some special treats for us to try in honor of my graduation. My favorite meal there is the Filet Robert, Will normally switches it up but loves their Ceasar Salad as an appetizer.

Post Grad Plans

Right now, I am fully enjoying not having to stress about assignments or hefty projects. Will and I are moving in together this summer (the location has not been announced yet, check my YouTube soon for an update!) and we are so excited to be experiencing this moment of our lives together. I have plans to continue in social media content creation and sharing my life in videos for the next several years. If you know me personally, you know I always need a project to do, so I am sure something will be in the works soon! For now, I am loving slow mornings snuggling with Elle, producing more content, and enjoying the phase of life I am currently in. For once in my life, I am not stressing out about my next steps.

My graduation day was nothing less than perfect. I am so thankful to everyone who sent me good luck wishes and helped me get to where I am today. You never know the places you will go.
