Graduation Tea Recap

Graduation is next weekend, and I still can’t believe it! This is a significant accomplishment for me, so I am excited to share this with friends and family. This past weekend I hosted a Love Shack Fancy-inspired tea, and I’m so happy to bring you along for this event and share all of the details of this special day.

I had a graduation tea during my senior year of high school and loved all of the many memories I made during it! I knew when I entered into college it was a tradition I wanted to carry on for my college graduation. I brought up the idea to Sheridan (who lives out in the quaint countryside about an hour away) to see if we could host it there. Her house was the perfect venue spot for the afternoon! We spent the morning drinking coffee, prepping our yummy tea sandwiches (we made cucumber, pimento cheese, and chicken salad!), and listening to Taylor Swift. Right before we started getting ready, we popped a bottle of my favorite champagne, Veuve Cliquot. The weather was absolutely beautiful and sunny. If you want to feel like you are a guest at my tea, watch my Grad Tea Vlog on my YouTube channel! My grad tea was nothing short of a fairytale and it got me so excited for graduation next week!

I loved this pink LoveShackFancy dress I found on sale earlier this year. This high-low skirt with ruffles made this the perfect dress for my grad tea. The exact dress is sold out, but I linked similar dresses and shoes here.

The Details

When it came to invitations, I used these gold foil and pink detail invites from Etsy. I also added one of my favorite pics from my pink graduation photo shoot on the back! With this theme, I wanted everything to be pink and girly, but also classy and timeless.

When arriving, one of the first things my guests were greeted with was this beautiful mirrored acrylic sign. I custom-designed this a couple of weeks before the tea and it was a beautiful moment on the table.

Y’all know that champagne is my favorite drink! I decided to get a few custom labels for my champagne, and this Veuve Cliquot label was my fave! I also did a custom graphic on my prosecco at the bubbly bar which was a perfect addition. The artwork looks even more amazing in person.

I grabbed this custom print from Etsy and framed it as part of the decor. I thought this addition was so cute and my guests were all asking about it!

The biggest conversation starter, the big pink bow, and all of my florals were all created by Daniel. If you want to work with him for your next party or event his email is dmcqueary@gmail.com.

One of my favorite choices for my tea was choosing to do a “bubbly bar”! It turned out great and was such a crowd-pleaser to everyone in attendance. I used these clear glass pitchers for the juices, and they were fabulous. For juices, we decided to do a classic orange, strawberry lemonade, grapefruit, and my personal favorite, watermelon.

This clear organizer worked perfectly for fresh fruit add-ons. It could hold ice underneath to keep the fruit cold, so many people decided to garnish it with some pre-cut fruit!

To label the bubbly bar, I got another custom graphic to frame. I loved this purchase because it is one I can use for more parties I will be hosting in the future.

Since I knew I was going to have some kiddos at the tea as well as some adults wanting a non-alcoholic option, I had a custom mocktail named “The Elle”. I love my cat Elle so much so it was very important for me to include her. I had this custom portrait made of her and then had my graphic designer, Camryn, create a mocktail graphic for me to print out!

The cake and the macarons were DEVINE! I loved how classy and girly these two yummy sweets were. I used Baked by MKG for both of these and it turned out perfect. She is local to Tuscaloosa and we picked everything up the night before.

I was so happy with how everything turned out, and I can’t wait to start my next chapter. Be sure to share with me how you're celebrating graduation and what you're most excited about!
