Moving Essentials

Will and I have officially moved into our new apartment, and we LOVE it! While the moving process can be stressful, I find it so exciting to move into a new space and start making memories somewhere new. As I reflect on our moving process, I thought I'd share all my moving essentials to help make your moving experience as stress-free as possible!

One of the most important things we had to pack was all my clothes and shoes! As we all know, I love my clothes, and making sure they stayed as perfect as possible while moving was a top priority. These moving bags made it so easy to fold up all my clothes and pack them safely away while they were being moved to the new apartment.

While we did get old boxes from our local grocery and liquor stores, I also purchased an eight-pack of banker boxes. These boxes were one of my FAVE items during moving, and I honestly wish I had ordered more of them. The boxes came with lids and reinforced handles, which made them easy to move and easily accessible to see what was inside.

One of the most overlooked parts of moving is cleaning your new AND old apartment. I wanted to leave our old apartment looking as clean and fresh as possible, and I also wanted to make our new place feel shiny and new. This electric mop made the cleaning process SO easy, plus all the floors looked brand newl!

My Hulken bag has probably been my most used bag this year because of how handy it is! I put all my clothes from my dresser into the bag, and it held EVERYTHING I had in there! Plus, it is SO easy to wheel around that it wasn't hard to carry.

We used my baby pink shopping cart to transport heavy cans like sodas, energy drinks, and juices. Storing our drinks in here was super convenient, as we knew where all of our drinks were and could easily grab one. Plus, we just rolled the cart around and didn't have to worry about lifting a super heavy box!

Having a cooler bag on move-in day made it easy to transport our refrigerated goods from our old apartment. Since we were staying in Manhattan and had a short commute to the new place, the bag allowed us to bring our perishable goods without them going bad.

When it came time to pack, I ordered two rolls of bubble wrap to help protect any of our fragile items. The majority of the bubble wrap was used when packing the kitchen, and two rolls were enough for everything we needed. Bubble wrap is ALWAYS essential when moving!

Y'all. Please bear with me on this one. Will chose to use black garbage bags to pack his items (you can take the boy out of the south, but not the south out of the boy). I liked using the bags for clearing out and donating items as they fit SO much!

If you're anything like me, you're going to have holes in your walls from hanging photos and lights. These repair applicators are my go-to for hole repairs because you have the putty, knife, and sander all in one!

Organization was a top priority when we started to pack the apartment up, and I wanted to know exactly where everything was. These tape labels made it so easy to identify boxes and organize them in the correct rooms in the new apartment. You can also use colored duct tape to organize your boxes as well!

Moving is such a bittersweet thing! While I was sad to say goodbye to our first NYC apartment, I am more excited to make new memories in our new home.
