New Orleans Recap
Anyone down for a fun trip to New Orleans…During the Super Bowl?! Will and I had THE trip of a lifetime when we visited New Orleans last week with our friends Chloe and Christi! Not only was the experience amazing, but Will was over the moon about being there with the Chiefs. I uploaded a vlog on my channel about the trip, but also wanted to recap it here!
Will and I drove to New Orleans from Alabama, but the long drive was totally worth it! On our first day, we ate at this delicious restaurant, Oceana Grill, and the weather was immaculate (it was snowing in New York during our trip, which made us appreciate the weather even more). Will and I were truly loving the yummy southern food and atmosphere that reminded us of home!
As it was Super Bowl weekend, the city was so lively and packed with people! We were able to walk around and stop at all the different bars, like Apothecary, and get some silly little drinks. One of my favorites was a drink inspired by vampires that came in a blood bag! Our friends also ordered a Shark Attack, which is when the bartender plunges a shark into your drink and red liquid comes out to represent blood. That was pretty iconic!
We also took the time to take in all the special Super Bowl decorations and events! A highlight of our first day was getting to dance the night away to amazing music, including Taylor Swift. I couldn't believe I was in the same city as her, and Will couldn't believe he was in the same city as Travis. It was a perfect combination!
While Mardi Gras wasn't happening, the beads were still flowing, and Will and I had a nice collection after the first day! One of my favorite parts of the entire trip was finding all of the cats that roam around the city. If there's one thing about me, I will find a cat, and I will try to become its best friend.
Our second day in New Orleans was all about Super Bowl Sunday! Will was dressed in head-to-toe Chiefs gear, and it was SO fun to see how excited he was about being in the same city as his favorite team as they played in THE most important game of the season! We got to start our morning driving by the stadium where they were playing, so we were hyped before the day even truly started!
Our first stop of the day was a cutie brunch at Tacos Del Cartel. Y'all. I can't even express to you how YUMMY all the food is in New Orleans! Everything we ate was delicious, and I'm still dreaming about the food. We also found this adorable place where the bar is a carousel that actually spins around. It was SO cool!
One of the most fun parts of the trip was finding a hat and mask shop, where we put on the most elaborate and fun items we could find. I wore the most sparkly hat I had ever seen, and Will looked hilarious in a funny mouth mask! It did start pouring out, but don't worry, we found the cutest little ponchos to wear.
Now, it was finally time for the Super Bowl! Will wants to thank you all for reaching out and making sure he was okay. While it was a difficult watch, we still had a great time watching with each other. And, Taylor Swift looked amazing, so really it was a win for her! We spent the rest of the night walking around Bourbon Street, and it was the perfect way to end a night that didn't go as planned.
I can’t post this blog without talking about the amazing Airbnb we stayed in, Sinners and Saints! Christi owns the place we stayed, and you can see ALL the attention to detail put into making this place fabulous! I was obsessed with it because of all the pink scattered around, and my favorite bedroom to stay in was, of course, the Magnolia Bedroom. The ceiling is literally covered in magnolia wallpaper with little white parasols hanging down. It was AMAZING!
Will and I had THE best time in New Orleans! I am so grateful we got to spend the weekend with Christi and Chloe because they were the best tour guides we could have asked for! I can't wait to visit again!
