Day in the Life as a Victoria’s Secret Model


I know Victoria's Secret... because I lived a day as a Victoria's Secret model! Ever since I was in middle school, I have been OBSESSED with all things Victoria's Secret, especially with the Angels. As I was preparing for Miss NY USA, I thought it would be the perfect time to spend a day as one of the models because both of our goals was to hit the runway! Victoria’s Secret Model Mindset

The Angel Aesthetic

As I was preparing to spend a day as a VS model, I knew I had to get into the right mindset. The first thing I did was make a Pinterest board that really channeled the VS Angel energy of the iconic fashion shows. The board is full of pink, sparkles, and more pink, and it really helped me prepare for what my day would look like. After that, I made a Spotify playlist that featured all the hype music from when VS was putting on their original fashion shows! Both these activities got me ready for my big day!

 

Rise and Shine Angel

 
 

Starting your morning off glamorously is the first step in becoming a VS model. As soon as I woke up, I put on some eye patches and made myself some lemon water to wake up my digestive system. I also made myself some delicious matcha to energize myself for the busy day ahead. After that, it was time to get ready for the day! I made sure to give myself that effortless, blowout curl look that all the models rock on the runway. For the makeup look, I focused on creating a look that was pink and shimmery and gave me that glowy look. The look would not have been complete without my FAVE VS lipgloss and this adorable angel wing bracelet!


Runway Preparation

Physical Preparation

According to my VS Angel research, the models work out twice a day, so I scheduled a Pilates class and walked all across the city. One of the most inspiring quotes I saw was from one of the Angels who said no woman should compare themselves to the models because maintaining their body is their full-time job. I feel like that is such an important thing to think about to prevent any comparison between ourselves and the Angels. 

Runway Practice

As I was preparing for my Miss NY USA pageant, I thought it was fitting to rent out a studio and practice my runway walk. I loved working in a studio that had huge mirrors so I was able to watch myself and fix any mistakes. As I was practicing , all I could think about was how hard it must be for the models to not only have to strut down the runway in heels but also wear heavy and enormous wings on their backs!

Mental Preparation

When it comes to being a Victoria's Secret model, you must have unwavering confidence and a strong mentality. While there is so much physical preparation involved with the job, none of it matters if you aren't mentally in the right headspace. As I was spending my day as an Angel, I kept giving myself affirmations that inspired me and made me feel beautiful on the outside and inside.


Midday Errands

 
 

No day as an Angel would be complete without stopping and shopping at Victoria's Secret! I had so much fun browsing through all of the store's new items, and I was obsessed with looking at all the authentic VS Angel wings displayed around the store. After picking out some of my favorite things, I headed home to have some lunch. While doing my research for the vlog, the models said how they ate a lean protein for lunch with some salad and grain. So, I treated myself to some tuna, quinoa, and my current favorite obsession, an arugula salad! I also made sure to stay super hydrated throughout the day to help keep my skin clear and my body fueled.


Time to Unwind

 
 

When it comes to being a VS angel, self-care is the number one priority! I used Brazil nut body butter and my favorite Victoria's Secret body oil to keep my skin hydrated and give it that glowy look. Then, I treated myself to a face mask to wash away any dirt and refresh my face after a long day. Afterward, I ate Sweet Green for dinner and did some yoga before bed. I find that when I give my body some time to relax and unwind with yoga, it helps me sleep better. Of course, I put on my VS pajamas and went to bed dreaming about what my VS wings would look like! 


I had such an AMAZING time spending the day as a Victoria's Secret model! The day was full of pink activities and hyping myself up to prepare myself to take on the world, one runway at a time.
