How to Make a Vision Board

2025 is almost here, and I get to do one of my favorite parts of the season: make my vision board! I am SUCH a visual person, so I love thinking of everything I want to achieve in the new year and putting all those dreams together with images. I have been making my vision boards for a couple of years, and I have documented them all on my channel! It's always SO fun to reflect on your vision board at the end of the year and see what has come true!

Where to Start

The BEST place to find images for your vision board is Pinterest! Pinterest has the best quotes, aesthetics, and photos to match whatever your dream may be. Pinterest is also a great place to start if you don't know what you want on your board yet but need inspiration. It's also important to note that your vision board can be digital, like a Pinterest board. Having a digital vision board is free and can be used as a wallpaper to remind you of your goals every day. However, I love the process of printing photos and putting the board together with my hands, so I always make a poster!

Finding Inspiration

When it's time to think about what you want on your vision board, think about every aspect of your life. The top categories that come to my mind when making vision boards are education, travel, relationships, career, lifestyle, and faith. Once you have these categories down, you can start typing keywords into Pinterest and finding photos that match your vibe. If you decide to make a physical vision board, print more photos than you need. You're going to be cutting up pictures and eliminating extra borders from printed quotes, so you're going to need LOTS of photos to fill those empty spaces.

Defining Your Goals

When making your vision board, the goals included can be short-term and long-term. It is important to include big dreams that may seem out of your reach, but don't forget more obtainable goals you will be able to achieve within the year. When you include those bigger goals on the board, I like to think of making progress toward them during the year rather than achieving them. Along with this, it is important not to put too much pressure on yourself during this process. If something doesn't happen on your vision board, it is perfectly okay, and you shouldn't beat yourself up over it. Dreams and goals are amazing, but always remember to focus on each step you're taking now to get closer to those goals.

Don’t Be Afraid to Customize

Your vision board must be as customized to you as possible. If you have been searching forever for a certain quote or image and can't find one that resonates with you, make it! I love creating personalized graphics in Canva or PicMonkey to make sure I am putting exactly what I want on my board without making any exceptions.

Make it Fun!

Making a vision board is a form of self-care, so make it special! Get cozy, put on a face mask, grab your favorite drink, light a candle, turn on your favorite music, and get creating! The ambiance of making a vision board is SO important, so make sure you feel your best while doing it. I love listening to my "Main Character" or "Young and Successful" playlist when making mine!

I love setting goals for myself, and there is nothing better than a new year to make some new dreams come true. I am excited to see what you all put on your vision boards for 2025 and see what we achieve together!
