Day in the Life of Rory Gilmore

The leaves are officially turning orange and the smell of pumpkin spice lattes is wafting through the air, which can only mean one thing: fall has arrived. To completely embrace the cozy and warm vibes of the season, I’ve decided to take a quick trip to the fictional town of Stars Hollow and spend a day in the life of the fall queen herself, Rory Gilmore. Get ready for a day full of coffee, books, more coffee, and at least one existential crisis about my future at Yale. So grab your favorite book and the biggest cup of coffee you can find, and let’s spend a day as Star Hollow’s resident bookworm.

If the first thing I didn't do as Rory Gilmore was make coffee, I would be doing her an injustice. We all know how important coffee is in energizing Rory, and she and I definitely have that in common! To capture the fall vibes of Stars Hollow, I put on a fall ambience video on YouTube and played my Rory Gilmore playlist on Spotify. Of course, I drank my pumpkin spice coffee out of a Luke's Diner mug, and I made myself some warm cinnamon rolls, which are the perfect fall breakfast.

After breakfast, it was time to physically transform into Rory. After creating a Pinterest board replicating her aesthetic, I decided to straighten my hair with a little curl at the bottom and give myself a flawless, natural makeup look. One of my favorite parts about being Rory was dressing up as her! Rory's entire wardrobe is the epitome of autumn, so I loved getting into the fall spirit. I wore a white chunky cable knit sweater, a tan skirt, a white hair bow, and chunky boots. I definitely felt like I killed the academic aesthetic I was trying to achieve!

After getting ready, it was time to go to one of Rory's favorite places: a bookstore! While Rory didn't live in New York, I went to one of my favorite bookstores in the city, McNally Jackson, which I thought Rory would have loved. I could spend hours in this bookstore, and I looked at so many books until I found the perfect ones: Expiration Dates by Rebecca Serle and Bergdorf Blondes by Plum Sykes. Also, because Rory is so studious, I thought she would indulge in stationery, so I bought myself some notebooks and pens!

I was tired after book shopping, and I knew it was time for another coffee. Bibliotheque is an amazing coffee shop in the city that also has a reading room. Bookshelves lined the walls, and if this place was in Stars Hollow, Rory would have lived there. I got myself a warm hot coffee and read my new book! Afterward, I made a quick stop at Trader Joe's to get a yummy dinner! There is a specific episode of Gilmore Girls where Lorelai orders pizza and candy and watches Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, so that is exactly how Will and I ended the night!

As we entered the month of October, becoming Rory Gilmore was exactly what I needed to get into the fall spirit. I hope you all enjoyed my day as Rory, and if you want to see more, check out the vlog, where I filmed my entire day!
